I made this topsy-turvy cake for my best friend’s birthday.  They are also sometimes called wonky cakes, and you can see why!  They’re very Alice In Wonderland kind of style, really fun and funky.  I went with pink and purple on this one, with feathers and a bit of bling on top!  We presented it to her in a restaurant after dinner, and it was definitely the largest birthday cake they brought out that night

The bottom cake is a chocolate sponge, and the top one is an orange cake.  They are both covered in vanilla buttercream and sugarpaste.
