This Christmas cake was for my friend Thomas.  He asked for a penguin Christmas cake, so I handmade loads of little penguins playing in the snow.  There are a couple sliding down the outside of the cake, one climbing back up again, one sunbathing, and one throwing snowballs!  This cake is based on a design from “Carol Deacon’s Little Book of Easy Christmas Cakes.”

The cake itself is a 9″ rich fruit cake, covered with marzipan and sugarpaste.
