This Christening cake was ordered by Laura for her son Evan’s Christening.  She asked for blue Converse booties, and building blocks spelling out Evan’s name.  I handmade the building blocks and booties, and they are completely edible.  I also put some little stars on the board beside the date.

The cake itself is an 8-inch carrot cake with cream cheese filling, covered in cream cheese icing and sugarpaste.

I love getting feedback on my cakes!  Got a lovely text from Laura afterwards – “Hi Geraldine, just wanted to let you know that the christening cake went down brilliantly yesterday.  It tasted every bit as lovely as it looked.  Thanks a million”.
