This cake was ordered for Caoimhe’s Confirmation day by her mother Michelle, from Naas. She wanted a nice simple traditional style, so I covered the cake in white sugarpaste and sprayed it to give it a nice pearly finish. I then handmade the little white dove from modelling paste and attached it to a wire, with was then put into a cake pick in the cake. I then cut out the message from gold-coloured sugarpaste and brushed it with gold lustre dust.

The cake itself was a 10-inch vanilla sponge filled with chocolate ganache, and covered with chocolate ganache and sugarpaste.
