This was my first Communion cake to make this year, and I thought adding a pretty little ballerina on top would make it very girlie.  Although all my handcrafted figurines are usually edible, this little girl does have a ribbon skirt so you wouldn’t want to be eating that

She’s sitting pretty on top of the cake, surrounded by pink flowers and lilac butterflies.  Aww the cuteness!

The cake itself is a chocolate biscuit cake – which kids absolutely love – covered with chocolate ganache and sugarpaste.  Below is a top view of the cake, so you can see the entire thing.
