Jennifer from Castleknock ordered this cake and cupcakes for her 21st birthday party.  The top tier cake was covered in pink sugarpaste, and decorated with silver and black sugarpaste stars.  I also attached some of the stars to curly wires, and inserted them into a cake pick, so they seem to burst out of the top of the cake.  The “21″ is cut out from card, and decorated with edible glitter.  There were also 25 matching cupcakes, also decorated with stars.

The top tier cake was a 7-inch chocolate orange sponge, filled with orange buttercream, and covered in orange buttercream and sugarpaste.  Half of the cupcakes were chocolate, topped with pink buttercream icing.  The other half were vanilla, topped with vanilla buttercream.  Jennifer also hired the mirrored cupcake stand from me – there are a total of 8 tiers, so it is capable of displaying an awful lot of cupcakes!

The cake and cupcakes were a great success at the party…  I got a lovely email from Jennifer the next day – “I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for the cake! It looked AMAZING and tasted even better!! There wasn’t a crumb left at the end of the night!! If anyone needs a cake in the future I’ll definitely be directing them to you!”  Yay, such lovely clients I have
