Caroline from Lucan ordered this cake for her daughter Lauren’s Christening.  I covered the cake in pale pink sugarpaste and handmade a little pair of ivory-coloured Mary Jane baby shoes.  I bought the template for these shoes from Jo Ranson in the UK - she is raising money for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital http://the-icing-on-the-cake.blogspot.com/2010/08/mary-jane-template-mary-jane-template-2.html  They are beautiful little shoes, and in aid of a very good cause too!  I dotted the cake with some pretty little flowers too.

The cake itself was a 7-inch chocolate sponge, filled with chocolate ganache, and covered with chocolate ganache and sugarpaste.
