I made this cake for my adorable twin niece and nephew for their first birthday.  It was difficult to find a theme that would suit both a little boy and a little girl, but they both really love Winnie the Pooh.  The top tier was lemon sponge and the bottom tier was chocolate sponge, both covered in sugarpaste.  I handmade the models of Winnie, Eeyore, Tigger and Piglet from modelling paste.

I think it’s safe to say they absolutely loved the cake, as they got stuck in immediately and tried to grab the little characters!  Piglet quickly lost an ear and Winnie lost an arm, but it made two little babies laugh so that’s all that matters
