Eimear ordered this cake for her Dad’s 90th birthday.  They were having a family party for him and wanted something fun for his cake.  He loves crosswords and always has a cup of tea by his side.  So I handmade a little model of him from modelling paste, along with a crossword in the newspaper and a cup of tea in his hand.  I made his little glasses from wire, so they’re obviously not edible!  I also made a silver “90″ and a spray of stars bursting out of the cake behind him.  Apparently the model ended up looking just like him!

The cake itself was a 9″ vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream.
